Unfortunately, due to recent abuse of our website we now require all customers to register an account before prior to being able to make a purchase. This will be verified by us as soon as possible but a volunteer may not be to hand immediately, so it should be expected to be approved within 48 hours.
If you are already a current PSV Circle member, your membership details will also be verified and added allowing you the full range of member discounts and facilities straight away. If you are not a member there is no need to add any reference in the PSVC reference field.
You will be automatically advised to the email address you register with when the account has been approved so please take care to ensure this address is valid and can receive emails from all psvcircle.org.uk addresses - you may need to check your spam folder - This is particularly relevant to BTinternet accounts which frequently block our emails. You will be then be free and most welcome to make any purchases you wish.
It is an anti-SPAM feature of our site that any account set up with an invalid email address (and thus returns a 'rejection' to your confirmation email) will be automatically deleted. Once again, if you are having problems, please email us for advise.
We apologise for any inconvenience but we are attempting to protect ours and our members' interests.
Where a new account is set up, we will remove it from the site if it then remains dormant (there is no sales activity) after 2 months to avoid us retaining your personal details any longer than necessary under data protection rules. If you subsequently do require to purchase any items or memberships, you can set up the account again although it will need to be re-verified.
Squareup Europe Ltd. of Dublin is our payment handler for all payments paid online through our shop and you can check out immediately by just inputting your card details (Direct Card) - the transactions are handled securely by Squareup and the Circle has no involvement with this and we cannot see your card details but it is a direct card payment to us. For your card security, you are strongly advised not to save your card details on the remote site. If you do we cannot be responsible for their safety.
We would note that in the event of any card verification issues; the PSV Circle has no involvement with the payment transaction (other than passing you to over Squareup as a handler) and cannot assist in the resolution of issues. Cards used online need to be verified with your card issuer and if they fail to verify or decline the card the transaction will fail under current security rules. You would need to contact your card issuer or Squareup to resolve any such issues you might have. If you do have any queries or problems, we are happy to attempt to assist you as far as we can but we will require full details of the issue you are having, including what you ordered, where exactly on the site you had the problem, the payment product you chose etc. and any error or information messages you received. Screen shots are also most helpful.
The minimum order value though our website is £4.00. We are more than happy to handle smaller value orders but please download our Publication List and use the post facility and send a cheque/postal order so that we can keep our costs down and continue to offer our items post free.
As the PSV Circle is run by unpaid volunteers in their free time, we endeavour to despatch all orders within 5 working days unless we state a different despatch date, although we do work hard to send out items sooner. Please allow at least 15 working days (25 days for overseas orders) before querying non-arrival of your order. An expected posting date will usually be advised with your order confirmation email or on the website at holiday times and if there are any problems with dispatching an item you will be informed to your registered email address at the earliest opportunity. Again, please ensure that emails from psvcircle.org.uk addresses are accepted by your email handler as we cannot be held responsible if your incoming emails are rejected or held in your spam folder.
All sales items are posted via Royal Mail second class free of charge to all UK addresses (although, please see notes below regarding overseas orders). Please note we don't use tracking services so we are unable to offer any more information than when we posted it. If it goes missing, we have to wait 10 working days from the expected delivery date before it can be declared missing and a replacement can be supplied.
Please do not rely on the site order status to advise completion or despatch of order. We do not use the site to advise such matters and all orders are just flagged as processing immediately on check out and this does not get updated and gives no direct indication of the current status of your order.
The PSV Circle does not generally offer a 'sale or return' policy on our publications. As a voluntary organisation we use any funds received to support our production of other products.
In the event you receive a faulty or damaged item, please contact us by email and we will be happy to supply a replacement free of charge. We may or may not request the return of any faulty item but if we do, this will be at our cost. You will be advised by return.
If you decide you no longer want the item and it's not faulty or damaged please contact us first to confirm this. You have 14 days to decide this from receipt of your order and a further 14 days to return the item to us. Any item so returned must arrive back with us in a re-saleable condition (we cannot resell books where they have been opened out flat or marked for example) and all costs of returns must be borne by the purchaser. Any item damaged or not able to be re-sold on return will not be refunded.
We are delighted to handle overseas orders although having recently been advised of fairly substantial postage charge increases by Royal Mail and the need to add customs declarations to all overseas postings we will now add an amount to your order to compensate for these extra charges. We also have to complete customs formalities and we have been advised these will become more onerous as time goes on. This additional amount reflects merely the difference between UK postage (which we will continue to absorb) and any additional costs to post overseas. This will be advised at checkout reflecting the weight of your shipping and thus the cost and, of course you are free not to complete the order if you are unwilling to pay this. We do regret costs to the United States have been particularly hard hit by this and sadly are correspondingly a bit higher.
Overseas customs and handling charges may be added to purchases and membership items on arrival in the destination country. We cannot know if they will be added or how much they might be as they are imposed by the authorities of that country and subject to their local laws and rules. All such charges are the full responsibility of the purchaser and no credit will be offered if you choose not to accept these or delivery on arrival. If any item is returned to us in a saleable condition, we will refund the item(s) less our postage costs.
If you are purchasing a membership you must be over 16 years of age and by accepting these terms you are confirming this to be the case.
Anybody under 16 who wishes to join the PSV Circle should complete a paper application form (Print off from the site) and send this in with a supporting letter from a parent or guardian confirming that they agree to you joining and complying with the Circle rules. This will need to be considered at the following Management Committee meeting after application.
If you have just joined or you are an existing member using the site for the first time, please ensure you are paying the correct price BEFORE checking out any publication purchases. You are deemed to be accepting the price offered and no adjustments will be made retrospectively. You can check your membership status by logging into your account and navigating to the My Account tab. If you think it's wrong; please contact us for assistance before you finalise any transaction.
Existing members who have set up a new account may need to wait up to 48 hours before seeing member's prices for us to verify and update your account status; obviously we do this as soon as possible.
New members joining us should check out (purchase) their membership first before purchasing any other items to ensure they obtain the appropriate member discount. Any sales items added to a new membership order will still be charged at the non member prices (you are not classed as a member until after you have made the payment!).
Where a member places an order benefiting from the member discount, items will only be sent out to the registered address of the member we have on our main records, not any alternative address of a friend etc. If you do need to advise of a change of address please email any update to firstname.lastname@example.org as just adding a new address to your account or amending it here does not indicate a change and in any case, the site does not automatically tell us you have changed it.
To manage your account we need to keep your records on computer. You agree that we can do this for the sole purpose of administering your order and/or membership. We will never pass any details to any third parties whatsoever without requesting your explicit consent.
